What’s a site and soil evaluation report?

Site and soil evaluation reports are required by all local authorities for any alterations to an existing system or new treatment system. These reports outline the land application area, and type of wastewater system and disposal irrigation system that should be used on the property.

What’s included in a site and soil evaluation report?

Site visit and survey

We perform site visits and survey to determine the site conditions, land topography features, any water sources on site and land slopes.

Following this detailed site survey, the best land application area (LAA) is determined.

Soil test

During a soil test, we drill boreholes to different depths to determine the characteristics of each soil class present. The site bores also determine if any groundwater or bedrock is present.

Permeability test

Each test bore is tested for permeability using our own testing apparatus. This test determines how quickly the soil can drown the liquid effluent.

Our evaluation reports detail:

Property location

  • site map

  • property size

  • effluent daily load

Site assessment details

  • property slope

  • ground cover

  • site features

  • land topography

  • boreholes

  • soil classification and soil results

  • permeability results

  • proposed land application size

  • proposed land irrigation system

  • proposed treatment system for the site

Treatment design and council submission

In the next stage, we complete the design of the treatment system. Our designs take into account all the site topography features and constraints, effluent disposal demand from the residential or commercial building, and soil permeability. Our in-house team will plan and draw the hydraulic design, before submitting them to the local authority for approval and compliance number issues for the install of the system.
